Benefits of AC Variable Speed Drives (VFDs)

VFDs used with mixing equipment offer companies considerable energy savings combined with maximum operational flexibility. One can use the same mixer for batches of varying components and sizes. Variable speed drives prolong the life of your mixers by adjusting motor speed to meet your load requirements. The soft start characteristics of VFDs eliminate voltage dips and reduce starting shock on motors, couplings and gear drives, in turn reducing maintenance. Saving additional cost, the use of variable speed drives also eliminates the need for motor starters.

Cleveland Eastern Mixers offers an AC variable frequency unit that can be matched with standard or "inverter duty" AC motors. Available ¼ HP to 75 HP, they can be used with mixers equipped with TEFC, TENV, Washdown, Mill & Chemical duty, and Explosion Proof motors.

DC Variable Speed Drives (VFDs)

For less demanding applications, Cleveland Eastern offers Variable Speed Drives for ¼ - 2 HP applications. The units feature a DC permanent magnet motor (brushless) and a NEMA1 or NEMA 4 Enclosure. It is equipped with an on-off toggle switch, speed pot, and 110V line cord and an AC to DC converter.
